Top 5 Post Gig Munchies

A great night out is measured not by the content of the gig, the venue, nor the vibe of the crowd, rather, a better tell of the evening’s success is the quality of the post gig munchies. I’m going to give you my top 5 local post gig munchies.

5. Night & Day (Cuba Street - Manners Street)

Night & Day -- Can you call it food? Depends on how far gone you are. It’s cheap, it’s edible, it’s your weeks worth of sodium in a box, you wouldn’t eat it sober, it’s Night & Day. Leaving a San Fran gig, I like to call my walk home the Night & Day golden mile. With my first stop at Cuba Night & Day, I stock up on whatever stale hot food remains, then slam this back before reaching Night & Day Manners Street where I can enjoy a plentiful refill of a similarly heinous meal. A deep guilty pleasure of mine.

4. J&M’s

If your evening events reside away from Cuba Street in the heart of Courtney Place, J&M’s is the stop for you. Guaranteed to satisfy your chinese food craving, or even a naughty chicken and chips if you are that way inclined. J&M’s have got you covered, just be wary if you’re paying in cash, IYKYK.

3. Lord of the Fries

Here’s one for the vegans among us. Let’s be honest, if you’re not vegan you probably won’t go here, if you are vegan, you’ll probably know this place like a second home. Little explanation is needed. LOTF, it’s great.

2. Lucky Chicken

Another Courtney Place banger, but this ones for the wealthier among us. Those willing to spend a little extra moolah will be greatly rewarded. Lucky’s chicken slaps ridiculously hard. Whether it’s a burger, gravy fries, or their signature poppers (not that kind), it’s going to leave you more than satisfied. Lucky Chicken -- bang most certainly worth the buck.

1. Maccas

If this entry annoys you, bite me. It’s the undisputed champ. Where else can you score two burgers, fries and a drink for under ten bucks. The Maccas coupons are unmatched and don’t even get me started on Maccas Monopoly. You’ll hate yourself for it the next day but in the moment it’s like a gift from the gods.
