Isolation’s Hidden Gems - Ft. James Lindsay
James Lindsay is an up and coming Wellington musician who is shown to be promising in the music industry. Since his first EP ‘I MADE THIS IN MY BEDROOM’ released in 2019, things have been quiet from James. However, once isolation kicked in he took advantage of his time creating his most recent single; ‘You Up?’ So far the alt-pop hit has had over 2000 plays on Spotify within the last week. Jame’s explains that this song is about “missing someone during these hard times of separation and just wanting to call them.” Making ‘You Up?’ extremely relevant during the lockdown as many people find themselves missing loved ones. The soft sounds of panning guitars and calming vocals during the piece takes inspiration from ‘Sugar’ by Brockhampton.
James has managed to produce the track himself making the listening experience much more unique for his audience. With one high-quality release after another James has created an audience of 476 monthly listeners and continues to grow that with his talents; those of which will be patiently waiting for more releases. James teamed up with us to create the first episode of our online video series titled “What in my Bubble?” to show us around his bubble, check it out below.
